bcb723 Deep and intense melodic blackened death, strongly informed by some of the under the radar 90's indie guitar bands (I'm thinking like Built To Spill, Silkworm, Yo La Tengo, etc.) which oddly works quite well when the isolated opening riffs or solos kick in. That second track though is quite the dive off an emotional cliff... very cool spaced-out shit. Favorite track: A Wasted Echo.

Aquilus took a decade off and came back like he never left! Bellum I is yet another piece of beautiful melodic black metal mixed with classical and folk that makes you wanna dance naked in a forest somewhere. The natural sounding production increases the atmosphere heavily. Griseus is a monumental black metal album for me but Bellum I isn't far behind. Can't wait for II! Ryan

Damn,…what a monster! Well, i would call it progressive black/death doom metal. The harder songs (1-3) really kick ass. Amazing guitarwork and some heavy drums. Then there is an acoustic intro to the next song „Black Crystal Snowfall“ It‘s a little slower but an epic piece of music. After that, there is an acoustic outro - simply amazing.
